It's been a while since I blogged an outfit post but I thought the time had come now that I've almost got all my LFW runway shots up (and some surprisingly controversial reviews...). I've always thought of my personal style as relatively androgynous, a term which, according to some on Twitter, is a negative when it comes to menswear. I, however, don't see that many distinctions between men's and women's clothing. Naturally a peplum isn't going to look that good on me considering my depressing lack of child-bearing hips but that doesn't mean I don't raid the rails in women's clothes shops regularly on the hunt for loose-fitting or oversized pieces that suit my frame. If it looks good, it looks good. And don't even get me started on the pink/blue baby clothing debate...
The dress I'm wearing here is from T by Alexander Wang, picked up quite a while ago with Brooke in The Shop at Bluebird. To me, this is the perfect example of a piece originally designed for women that can be translated into a man's wardrobe. The extra sheer panel at the bottom adds a visual point of interest to what otherwise would be a rather minimal (read: boring) outfit. This is what I wore to Charlie's presentation during fashion week in an homage to her own personal style, but I almost completely forgot to get anyone to take my picture for the whole week. Although I like to dress up, my priority is seeing what the models are wearing and not showing myself off. Some of you may disagree here :-) Anyway, le flatmate helped me recreate the look on our balcony before I popped over to Swarovski Crystallized last night to support Simon and his big launch for themuse.tv.
